C. MOON is the mystified recording project of Northampton-based musician, Collin Wilkinson. After completing a burdened set of preliminary recordings, Collin hired Ben to put a vision to the music. Ben directed his entire emerging artist campaign; composing original artwork for his debut LP and its various single covers, art direction and photography for social marketing, and an entire portfolio of designs for physical packaging and merchandise.

VISUAL IDENTITY, THEMES, & STYLES:

Collin wanted Ben to construct a unique landscape for the “C.MOON character” to live within. The world was built with “surreal, yet natural” themes. Emphasizing systems of mysticism, illusion, and celestial wonder, the architecture of this space emerged as an odd type of abstracted transhumanism. Scanographs and twisted facial iconographies were cast as striking silhouettes against a de-realized cosmos of identity, mental health, and isolation. Black-and-white photographs were synthesized in dramatic contrast, exhibiting C. MOON’s neo-noir perversion of “ordinary life & living”. Motifs: “masks, faces, de-realization, nature, the perversion of the ordinary, outer space, existentialism, and the surface of the moon”.
